Not at all. Most people get the hang of it in 2-3 shaves. The M3teorite's mild plate is specifically designed for beginners—it's extremely forgiving while still giving you a close shave. Start with short, light strokes and let the weight of the razor do the work.
The M3teorite is designed to minimize nicks and cuts. Our mild plate exposes very little blade, making it nearly impossible to cut yourself with normal use. Most users report fewer nicks than with cartridge razors, plus zero razor burn.
Both are quality razors, but the M3teorite includes three interchangeable base plates (Mild, Medium, Aggressive) so you can customize your shave. Henson sells each aggressiveness level as a separate razor. We also include a sliding travel case, and are made in Arizona, not overseas.
Any standard double-edge blade works. We include 5 blades to get you started. Popular choices include Filoso, Astra Superior Platinum, Feather (very sharp), and Derby. A 100-pack costs about $10 and lasts most people over a year.
Most people change blades every 5-7 shaves, though this varies based on hair type and blade choice. You'll know it's time when the blade starts to tug rather than glide. At ~10¢ per blade, don't hesitate to swap it out.
Absolutely. Many customers use the M3teorite for head shaving—the mild plate is perfect for sensitive scalp skin. For body shaving, we recommend starting with the mild plate and working your way up as you get comfortable with the technique.

Also, I have used it another 5-10 times since then and I really like the razor. Still would have preferred it in the heavier SS version but it is nice to have something different in the AL version that I don't already have others.

This is an excellent razor I wanted to try one lighter than the stainless steel version. I’ve used several different blades and it’s worked well with all of them Personna Gem and Personna Platinum blades work exceptionally well. I think the titanium version will be my future purchase I think it will fill that sweet spot. Thanks again too the people at Oliworks for making an exceptional product. Best Regards

Gorgeous razor for BBS shaves! First time to use an aluminum razor (I'm used to heavier razors like stainless steel, brass, zinc alloy). Even if the M3terorite is lighter, the familiar head shape and built-in easy-to-find 20° shave angle make for an intuitive shave, but you do have to apply some steady but gentle pressure to properly engage the blade (especially with the Mild plate). I've only tried the Mild and Medium plates -- I find that the Mild plate has ample efficiency for BBS (standard three passes) without the blade feel and perceived chatter on the Medium plate (which has a larger blade gap and blade exposure that's better for thicker/longer growth). I really like the metallic olive drab color. The machined handle offers a secure grip, even with soapy/wet fingers. I love the presentation box -- it gives a somewhat old world feel to the entire unboxing, while also providing secure storage at home or on trips. I did get a minor weeper on the philtrum of my upper lip (always a challenging spot for me), but other than that, it's a smooth, gentle yet efficient shave overall. Took about 2 weeks to arrive in the Philippines. Three plates for adaptability to get that BBS shave, fantastic finish & color, and awesome presentation -- great value for the price! 👍🏼

It is a fine sturdy razor, that looks like it will probably outlast me. It gets whiskers off in the first pass. I bought it because certain parts of my face are more sensitive than the rest of my face, so I use this Aluminum with the number one Plate for those areas, and I use my Stainless steel Red one, with either the number 2 or 3 plate for the rest of my face. I am extremely pleased with both of these razors. They are very well designed and quick to get used to. Using short careful strokes I haven't gotten a nick from either model using any any of the plates. I look forward to my shaving experiences, instead of dreading it. Keep up the good work!

An outstanding razor with three interchangeable plates. From the very first use, it exceeded my expectations. I tested both the second and third plates, and each delivered a remarkably smooth, efficient, and comfortable shave. I paired the second plate with an AcuuForge blade and the third with a VOSKHOD Teflon coated blade both combinations performed beautifully. I plan to keep using this razor, and if these first impressions hold, I will definitely be ordering the titanium version. I have only been shaving with a safety razor for a little over a month. I started with a Merkur 34C. After building confidence in the process, I then purchased the gray aluminum m3teorite after 2 weeks. I was looking for something adjustable with multiple plates to try out different blade gaps. While seeking out the right razor, I noticed that most others in this price range were made of the same cast alloy my 34C was. These products tend not to be manufactured to the tolerances required to get the blade alignment dead on after every change. Always had to fidget to align them with the cap.
I am getting a much better shave than before and have the option to use different plates for different levels of beard growth. It truly is a honey for the money - I recommend it to anyone, especially new DE safety razor users. Looking forward to upgrading soon to stainless or titanium in the near future!

It took a while to get, but i believe that was the postal service fault. I am giving it four stars because i have only shaved twice with it with medium head because generally shave every two to three days. Shave have been smooth and irritation free. So far very happy with purchase. By the way, love grip when hands are wet. Will probably consider stainless in future.

I originally ordered the M3teorite-Aluminum with the intentions of using the handle on my stainless M3teorite to lighten it. I did so and it worked great but then I put the handle back on the aluminum plate and head and was surprised that it was just as good a shaver as the SS model, so now I have both and rotate them back and forth. The quality of both is a 10 out of 10.

An absolutely incredible shave. One pass with the most aggressive plate and it mowed down my tough whiskers. Even used the mild plate and got a solid shave. The craftsmanship is beautiful. I actually like the aluminum handle and weight. Much easier to manuever than a heavy stainless steel razor. Get this, I promise you it will be your go to razor!

Received my razor at the beginning of the week and shaved today with it for the first time. All I have to say is that it's the best shave I've ever had. Gillette Fusion 5 doesn't hold a candle or in the same league as the M3teorite. Picked up the grey aluminum version and I can honestly say this is the last razor I'll ever buy.
